February Newsletter Greetings, Time is flying by and we need the help of every Guild member in making our largest and oldest fundraiser, the 26th Annual Magnolias and White Linen luncheon, a success. I would like to see every member at the luncheon and/or Patron’s Party. If you cannot come, consider donating to this fundraiser. MWL produces our major contribution to the Symphony and is VERY important to our Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s continued success. Please attend, invite your friends and encourage other clubs and organizations to which you belong to attend. Your MWL committee, under the leadership of Renée Robinson, has worked very hard to make this an enjoyable and memorable event. Your help is always needed and appreciated. Our Guild members supported the PSO with refreshments for two concerts in January. Thank you to Audrey Taylor and Mary Ruth Dobie and their volunteers for another job well done. Janet Puskar and volunteers stuffed goodie bags for the Family Concert and worked at the instrument petting zoos and music and art stations. Over 400 attended the Family Concert this year. The children had a great time! The strings won as the favorite instrument station this year. Can you really compete with a harp? At the January meeting, new bylaw revisions were approved which will serve us into the future thanks to our bylaws committee chaired by Dana Fulford. Our next administrative task is updating the Articles of Incorporation. We will vote on them at the February 1 meeting at the Bonefish Grill. Please review the updated Articles printed in this newsletter. A nominating committee chaired by Dona Usry with members Mary Catherine Hinton and Amelia Asmar has been appointed to provide us a slate of officers for next year. Please contact Dona, Mary Catherine or Amelia if you are interested in serving in an office or have a recommendation. I appreciate all that you do for our Symphony and your dedication to making our community a great place to live. I am counting on your help again this year with another great Magnolias and White Linen. Hope to see you all there! Supporting our Local Symphony and community, Beverly Donahue, president |
